Goal #1: Increase virtual learning opportunities for staff and students.

Objective 1.1 The school will provide a variety of online virtual learning opportunities for students and staff.

Assessment Instrument: The staff will get a checklist of each one of the online virtual learning software that has been presented. The teacher will then have to integrate that technology in the classroom. The teacher will have to check off from the checklist what software he/she used, and how it integrated into the curriculum.

Objective 1.2 The school will increase the use of the classroom website as a communication tool between teacher and student.

Assessment Instrument: The teacher will have to update the website every week with homework, and work that is being done in the classroom. The administrators will have a list of teachers names, and will check off when it is updated.

Goal #2: Provide a Cost Effective Technology Infrastructure for school growth

Objective 2.1 Provide technology tools and multimedia devices to support classroom teaching and learning.
Assessment Instrument: Administrators and Instructional Specialist will be doing random walkthrough to observe teachers using the multimedia devices ( smart boards, and interactive notebooks) in the classroom.
Objective 2.2 Provide Project based learning for students with the implementation of Google Apps.
Assessment Instrument: Each six weeks the students will have a project based learning project with Google Apps. The teacher will rate each project with a rubric to make sure the student has integrated technology into the project, and used Google Apps.

Goal #3: Train Campus staff in order to be able to integrate technology into the curriculum.

Objective 3.1 Improve the capacity of all teachers to integrate technology effectively into curriculum and instruction.

Assessment Instrument: The principals and Instructional specialist will come around and have a checklist. The checklist will include the objective that is being taught, and how technology is being incorporated into that objective.

Objective 3.2 Expand professional development opportunities through the use of distance/online learning technologies.

Assessment Instrument: The teachers will take a survey after each professional development meeting. The survey will ask what the teachers have learned? and how they will incorporate what they have learned into the classroom.

  1. Kimberly,

I like the idea of more virtual learning opportunities. I am a little bit familiar with the Texas Virtual School Network. I think it is going to become more and more popular. The schools can schedule students some time to work on these classes, but yet not have to create them. According to the TVSN website, they provide virtual courses that are state approved. (TxVSN)

  2. Kimberly,

I love that you included Google Apps into your plan. So many universities and school district have made that innovated leap forward by switching to Google Apps. Plus, it is my understanding that the switch to Google Apps is also cost-saving in addition to its other many benefits.

Have you looked into the Google Teacher Academy? Google offers a FREE professional development academy for teachers. The academy centers around their products being intergrated into daily classroom use. After the academy you become a "Google Certificate Teacher" and continue to have access to learning communities and resources. It is a great opportunity. However, there is an application process since their space is limited. But I feel that all you need is one person from your district or school to attend and they can share out all their knowledge.

  3. I have not seen or used a lot of google for teaching. I have had to use google docs but not much of anything else. When I read that you would use google apps. I looked a few things up. I found out a lot of use for google. I found a website that has a lot of lesson plans using google apps. You can place your lessons on there for others to use. I found a lot of really good lesson plans. I am sure this is not new to a lot of google users but to me it was awesome.
